So I Suck, I Know...

Well you are very right...I need somethin new to post. But you see, it wouldn't be fair to you, nor to myself, if I just decided to post some whimsical entendre of nothingness just to satisfy the salacious appetite of the chronic blogger. No, it wouldn't be prudent, nor wise, even in the least bit. Some things require both time and patience in order for their grandeur to be truly esteemed with proper, dare I say...sumptuousness, when they finally appear; such as the slow geoding of a diamond, Halley's Comet, the Boston Red Sox winning a World Series, a democrat making a valid point, and even a new blog posting. Rushing into something that requires proper imperturbability, would be like eating brownies that are all cool and runny in the middle (which aren't half bad if you've got the right ice cream and stuff to go with it). But blogs don't come with ice cream, just the occasional frog legs and slurpee. But its those occasional's that give the post its flavor, you see. If I were to post the less-exciting everyday events, I would thus lose the savor of this delicious dish belonging to a supernal blogging feast of joy. Now that wouldn't be good. Not to mention, fasting from time to time is both healthy to the body and the spirit. So wait with me, just for a few hours or so, and I'll put something on your palettes to enjoy. Truth be told, I just don't have crap to write and I've been slackin on my blogging. I'll fix it!!

Did someone make out with a thesaurus last night!?!

Ryan & Lauren Nelson said...

Haaa, I should have. I busted out all the good words I knew, leaving a few for a future day. I have some other words I wanted to use, but I save those for the golf course.

Brock Nelson said...

haa, i save those words for bad customers and fake conversations i make up in my head! and the occasional toe stubbing.

Oh my gosh!! Wow, is this a new post?! I think that I will read it now!

Lyd said...

Um, that blog was just a bunch of fancy words to say nothing. I can sum it up in 20 words: Wait a bit because I don't have crap goin' on but when I do, it will be a great post.

No, he is just a natually born genius. He would read the encyclopedias for fun when he was little!

Ryan & Lauren Nelson said...

There is nothing nerdy about that... The pictures were cool in encyclopedias and it eventually paid for my college... so eat that.

Eliza said...

So that is a good sign if kids ready the encyclopedia? What about the dictionary? Riley is OBSESSED with reading the dictionary?!? I shouldn't be worried then right???

Ryan & Lauren Nelson said...

No, that means he's a serious ladies man. He just wants the smarts to back up his good looks.

-KJ said...

I agree with Ry. No worries. That kid is going to be handsome and smart. Deadly combo.

Eliza said...

Riley wants my dad's old encyclopedia sets so he can read them. Can you imagine how out of date those things are? He doesn't care but one day he'll have a test and he'll answer questions as if he was in 1985.

then he can party like its 1999

He'll know that in 1980 Las Vegas Population was - 164,674 and it also celebrated it's 75th birthday. Isn't that crazy how much it has grown? The CC Las Vegas Metro Area was 1,815,700 in 2005 and celebrated it's 100th birthday. CRaZy!!

-KJ said...

I remember looking at those encyclopedias too! Does anyone know where the pagers were worn out the most? There were at least 2...and in the same letter too!

Oh and those colorful learning books. I remember that the purple one was about the body...diseases and skeletons and muscles...at least i think it was purple. OH and the blue one had nursery rhymes and games....DOPE!

Eliza said...

It was the letter "D" - Dogs and Disneyland! What prize do i get?

Ryan & Lauren Nelson said...

It was blue and book number 11 I think; Make and Do. Childcraft.

Ashley O said...

Yes...Eliza wins a trip with me to Outback to see Dan !

-KJ said...

Make and Do was my favorite! I never would have rememberd Childcraft!

Ryan & Lauren Nelson said...

Make and Do is the best...hands down... I seriously had a dream last night about taking two paper plates and making a kite out of them with a lion face drawn on it. So weird. And then I went to Cal and Jeanettes and their family was eating Taco Time for dinner. Weird, but very accurate dream.

Ashley O said...
